Camp Champion 2025-Thursday: Be a Hero
At Camp Champion, being a hero isn’t just about superpowers—it’s about character, kindness, and community. Thursday’s theme, Be a Hero, encouraged campers to explore the qualities that make someone truly heroic: empathy, responsibility, courage, and respect. Through sensory activities, music therapy, movement breaks, and reflective scrapbooking, campers had the chance to connect with these ideas in a meaningful, personalized way.
We took an afternoon community trip to Shane’s Deli before returning for a special cultural experience: an introductory hula lesson led by Hula June of the Hula School of Chicago. Campers were treated to a beautiful performance before learning the steps themselves, making it a joyful and enriching end to a day focused on character and connection. Take a look at the highlights from this inspiring Thursday!
